Через повномасштабну військову агресію рф майже половина членів УФРЛ та її команд пішли захищати країну до лав ЗСУ та ТРО. Всі інші надають необхідну допомогу Українській армії та цивільним громадянам, що постраждали від злочинів армії рф, як волонтери у різних сферах діяльності. Саме через це УФРЛ довелось змінити свою політику щодо комплектування Національної збірної команди України з регбіліг – а саме залучати до її лав лише гравців Української школи регбіліг заради отримання ними більшої ігрової практики та мотивації у внутрішніх змаганнях.
Як говорилось у оголошенні УФРЛ від 01.11.2022, Президією УФРЛ було прийнято рішення скористатися досвідом інших країн (Італія, Греція, Ліван, Ямайка) щодо залучення закордонних спеціалістів з високою кваліфікацією, а також гравців з відповідним походженням, які мають досвід виступу у найсильніших чемпіонатах у світі – а саме австралійському та англійському. Щодо тренерського складу збірних команд України – ми оприлюднили його на минулому тижні і до нього увійшли тренери з трьох країн:
- Україна – Артур Мартиросян та Ігор Юркін,
- Англія – Кевін Дейтон,
- Австралія – Ден Бердшоу.
А сьогодні УФРЛ має за честь представити нового PR менеджера збірних команд України, людину завдяки якій УФРЛ знаходиться на прямому зв’язку з усіма бажаючими допомогти Українським командам як гравець з іншої країни (але з Українським корінням), як тренер, як представник медіа, як спонсор чи меценат, – нашого друга з Австралії – Мета Гірвана. Мет Гірван також має досвід у регбіліг як колишній президент клубу Lane Cove Tigers та довічний учасник Юніорської ліги Північного Сіднея. Завдяки зусиллям Мета серед кандидатів до лав Національної збірної України вже нараховується 14 досвідчених гравців з Австралії та Англії. Саме їх та найсильніших гравців Українських змагань планує залучати тренерський штаб збірної до міжнародних змагань відповідно до їх рангу.

NEW POLICY AND NEW PR MANAGER OF UFRL
Due to the full-scale military aggression of the russian federation, almost half of the members of the UFRL and its teams went to defend the Country to the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Territorial Defense Forces. All others provide the necessary assistance to the Ukrainian Army and civilians affected by the crimes of the russian army as volunteers in various fields of activity. It is because of this that the UFRL had to change its policy regarding the composition of the National Rugby League team of Ukraine – namely, to attract only players from the Ukrainian School of Rugby League to its ranks in order to get them more playing practice and motivation in domestic competitions. As stated in the UFRL announcement dated November 1, 2022, the UFRL Presidium decided to use the experience of other countries (Italy, Greece, Lebanon, Jamaica) in attracting foreign specialists with high qualifications, as well as players with relevant origins who have experience of playing in the strongest championships in the world – namely Australian and English. Regarding the coaches staff of the National teams of Ukraine – we made it public last week and it included coaches from three countries:
- Ukraine- Artur Martyrosian and Ihor Yurkin,
- England – Kevin Deighton,
- Australia – Dan Beardshaw.
And today UFRL has the honor to introduce the new PR Manager of the National teams of Ukraine, a person thanks to whom UFRL is in direct contact with everyone who wants to help Ukrainian teams as a player from another country (but with Ukrainian Heritage), as a coach, as a media representative, as sponsor or patron, – our friend from Australia – Matt Girvan. Matt Girvan also has Rugby League experience as a former President of Lane Cove Tigers and a life member of the North Sydney Junior League. Thanks to the efforts of Matt, there are already 14 experienced players from Australia and England among the candidates for the ranks of the National Team of Ukraine. They and the strongest players of the Ukrainian competitions are planned to be involved by the coaches staff of the National team to international competitions according to their rank.
